While my opinion may not be popular I think everyone is entitled to one, so I thought I would put my 2 cents in regarding the club challenge.

If we are going to host a round we would need to have a minimum of 2 people who are prepared to spend all day in scrutineering and are not going to race.

We also need a minimum of 3 people for race control who are going to spend all day watching the racing and officiating and again are not going to race.

Finally to run the canteen we need another minimum of 3 people who are willing to run the canteen and are not going to race.

So assuming I haven't forgotten anything we need a minimum of 8 people who are willing to volunteer a day of their time and not race.

Also as a club we need to have a track rebuild before the event and possibly another one after the event and we also need to be prepared for the possibility that in the event of a wash out, which has happened before, we will have outlayed for 60 plus trophies and food to feed the multitudes and there won't be a return on the outlay.

I am not saying we shouldn't do it if there are enough people willing to do the work but if you are intending to contribute 5 minutes and then spend the day racing that won't get it done.

Personally I am happy to help Marg with the computer on club race days, when the boss lets me out, but I feel the return to the club is too small for me to give up one of my negotiated days out to help run a challenge event.

I would rather go to a club day and race or if I was to give up a whole day of my time, unpaid, I would prefer it to be at an event where all of the money raised goes back to the club I support and helping it maintain and improve its facilities.

We will be there to assist in the club challenge. And If we can get Tom into a Skirt for pit chick I think we could draw a huge turn out .
