...and were putting in 2 new jumps and fixing up the track a bit.
where will the jumps will be going in? there are two spots that i can think of to put 2 jumps, but dont you think this will make the track a bit crowded?
i think that one jump at the back fence (straight across from the drivers stand) would be the best spot to put a small table top. in my opinion i dont think that putting in 2 extra jumps would be that good, so just want to know where the 2 jumps are planned to be put?

I think that there will be some discussion about the location of the jumps. Stu and Tony probably have some good ideas.
I'm quite certain that there is a general feeling that the jumps shouldn't be too difficult to negotiate (i.e. nothing waist high), however I personally think that there is a need for some more jumps to help develop the technical skill of our drivers.
The location that you suggest is one that has been discussed and I think that that is where one may go. This location will be a hard jump to drive over because many drivers actually drive in an arc through that section. Great for tech development!
Jeremy, If you are out there!!! What would be your suggestions. It would be great if you could make it to the working bee.
With regards to the Cub Challenge this year (2007), we asked Trevor for a 5th Sunday, unfortunately the date Trevor nominated was not available to the Club due to a major Horse event in the Main arena . Council will not let these 2 events co-incide.
The other thing that went against hosting the Challenge was lack of workers available on the day, it was just the usual handful that volunteered, but not enough to run the event.
It was put to the members that we would need betwen 10 to 12 workers on the day to assist with the running of the event. That consisted of Canteen help, scrutineering, track officials, track maintenance etc. We did not get enough volunteers.
The same criteria would apply if we were to host a Club Challenge in 2008.
In reality, we could host it on a 3rd Sunday, with the required number of helpers.
Personally, I would prefer to see the Club host an AARCMCC sanctioned event, such as State Titles.
[quote=X5 Addict;3694289 Like Waz said a fifth Sunday maybe? That's all that stopped us going ahead this year.
Or does onroad run on any second Sundays? That's another alternative....[/QUOTE]
First part to this reply was answered in my previous post.
Now for the On Road...... Not an option. Not enough facilities and not a big group of people attend On Road, it is a 'for fun' day. We will wait until we have new On Road Venue, before we consider hosting an event.

This will be discussed at the working bee and hope to see you there, all opinions are valued.

No Tony, I wasn't referring to St Ives hosting an on road. I meant we could host the off road on that day if there was no on road

Well if there is a jump to be placed at the back fence, where would there be space for another one? I remember the old jump at the start of the straight, that used to be pretty good although its kinda gone now

Read your post the wrong way, (don't like the forum for that very reason.)
We would not give up an On road day as that would be penalising the On Road drivers and it is always a laid back, fun day, especially if it is not rained out.

Tony

Would have to be careful where it is put as we don't want a jump that is aimed at the fence (or the lap scoring area, for that matter) and can get too much air under the car. That could be a worry, litigation being what it is, we do not need to decapitate a spectator. (Or a lap scorer.)
