BTW..........If all drivers could try and have the correct amount for race entry it would be a great help. I just don't always have enough change. Maybe just put away a few dollars each day.

oh great, another esc gone dodgy

the futaba mc330cr has just blown something (i can't steer, brake or reverse, only accelerate, and if i don't give input for a few seconds it cuts off) and now i need ANOTHER esc. im gonna buy an mtroniks (waterproof just to be safe, puddles spring up in different blind spots every time it rains around my house). I've bought a new receiver too, one that'll fit in the boundaries of the chassis, it only cost me 23 bucks - about 50 bucks for a new receiver (smartech, not well known but the forums ive looked say they work well for such a low price) and spektrum servo (w00t.lol.omg.g2g.h4x0R.l33t.rofl.t3hN00B5) - good deal me thinks?

anyway im not gonna be short of funds for a while, my surfboard of 5 years (used it about 10 times, couldn't get the hang of it) is going for 200 (anyone want it?), the rustler for 80, the old charger for 15 and the predator xrs is sitting at 300.

edit - what of these?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....6899&rd=1&rd=1

im guessing i should go with gp's, right?

edit 2 - just remembered the smell test - definitely a FET blown - i can buy them individually at dick smiths, should i give it a go?

Hmmm, don't know about your sketchy ethnic cells you've found there! I can't even pronounce that

Yeah stick with GP or IB. They're dirt cheap these days. You should be able to find packs for $35-$40US plus shipping.

Hey can anyone give me a quick 1-2 lesson on my DPD and wether to use 30amp dyna pulse or 5amp linear or if they are for different things. I got it going on 1 battery with 5a linear and its sitting on 42 minutes and the cells are all between 17 and 24v.

Look, on one hand you whine about blowing a cheaper esc, then you look at more cheap stuff!

Smartech is a very budget brand but the radio gear is probably ok. The Spektrum servos aren't much chop really, plastic gear / weak / slow. And those batteries, who knows??? Not well known so up to you if you want to gamble.

What F$#@'n cells are they??????? I want some!!!!! I don't know what the hell you are reading there, unless you are reading the I.R.? Which would be 1.7 and 2.4.
If its a fully charged pack use the 30A pulse. The DPD does take a while to discharge so be patient! Especially if the cells are very "unbalanced"!

Jerome - the DPD at 30A has the pulse function, so is not too harsh on your cells. Just use that.

The on-road international forum has heaps on the DPD, definitely worth a read when you can.

On the pulse setting, expect a pack with 500sec to still take 1-1.5hr to discharge.
