I got a few new bodies mate... Some actually don't fit the car . The TC5 has a large front bumper, so with the Stratus type bodies, you have to cut the holes for the wheels a bit behind the proper holes...

Default The Right Equipment

Having operated from a box for around a year now, I think it's time I got the right stuff

Having tested my side-by-side cells, one is about .2v lower than the other five, and one is pretty mmuch giving no power at all. that's what i get for buying cheap cells, right? i'm gonna get a good charger and make sure i discharge my batteries (pics of the discharger soon, i think it turned out quite nicely) - speaking of which, i need some new batteries, preferably between 3000mah and 4000mah.
To Sell:
Old 12v car battery charger/power supply - 12v/4a
Ansmann 3a Nimh/Nicd charger
Modded Traxxas Rustler (I have done some hopups since anyone last saw it, looks like a racer now)
traxxas standard servo

To Buy
a few good battery packs
Spektrum high speed servo (they're like 10 bucks on eBay!)
240v Charger or 12v with power supply
Various Toolboxes
tuning/car work bits and pieces - suggestions anyone?

Where is everybody? I'm up at the track and ready to race. Had a practice this morning and cracked a 20 lapper. Only problem is I then woke up.

Looks like it's back onto the net to buy some goodies.

That's you, Ben and myself. Man, buying a new car really does send a man mental. New car, new servos for a couple of cars, 3 new motors, new GTB esc, new shells, new parts, new batteries. Gotta get some more parts for my BJ4 too. Don't you just love it? Thing is, I place an order and then all these other things come to mind that I could use... the list gets longer and longer. The days go on and the list gets longer and longer.

pics of the discharger - chargeed then discharged, charged then discharged and all cells (including the dead cells!) are back at full voltage!
need to test the (mah) capacity though - how?

You probably wont be able to check the pack's capacity unless the charger has a led screen that tells you the capacity that has gone into the pack.

Can't open the pictures on my computer...

Well done mate! You can estimate charge by measuring time taken at what current. Will give you a good indication. eg 5A for 60 mins = 5000mAh.

Just remember too you'll get most charge by letting the pack rest, so a good way is to discharge and equalise at night, then recharge the next morning. If you don't let the pack rest the pack won't take on a full charge, probably 10% to 15% less than maximum.
