3600 & 3700 can be bought for $25.00. 4200 can be bought for $40.00 so whats the point of enforcing battery limits.

$85 x 3 packs = $$$ X change after every 3 months = $$$$$$$$$$$ =

Then ban matched packs, not capacity.

yes but how can that be enforced?
also unmatched 4200shv can be deadly too and are still in the $60+ range....

It can't be that hard buddy. Were talking about running TT-01 aren't we. If someone would cheat running matched packs 1.30+ by taking the stickers out will be the lowest of the low and honestly no one but a handfull of racers here would be able to take advantage the output of a top end pack as one clip on the dome cancels any advantage you gain. Driving will still be the major factor not voltage.

http://www.nhrccc.org.nz/pages/30/Rules.html
These are the rules we use here in NZ for TT01, and we have very good numbers, bear in mind we also use the 1500 battery rule in stock (silver can) as well and the Tamiya 1400 stickpacks are cheap and last well, I'm still using ones from a couple years ago!
Basically the only way to really control costs is to limit EVERYTHING, it means anyone can come into the class with less than $500NZ and have the same equipment as the more seasoned racers.
What I like about it is you can turn up and all you really have to do is charge batteries and you are good to go, no setup, no mucking with tyres etc etc.
We also restrict who can run for points on a club level, so for instance myself being a sponsored driver, I am not elegible for points but I still race with the newer guys, and more importantly I actually have FUN

the reason to put a limit on batterys is so when the "next" higher battery comes out you wont "have" to buy them to keep up.
and from my experience ni-cd batts will take a lot more punishment than ni-mh will.

i would have personally said to go with tamiya 1400's, but have not seen them in shops for a while. silver can 540j motor. standerd speedy, and the few hop-ups that have been mentioned(shaft, motor mount, toe in,)
will be at a track or two this week to try out different tire's. I would like to see a control tire used. what do you all think?????

maybe depending on where, when and what restrictions there are

for the first runs wont enforce batt or tires, just the standard car with bearings, alloy centre shaft and motor mount, toe in rear hubs and adjustable tie rods for steering. and a realistic body, tamiya, hpi etc...but no pure racing blobs(dodge, mazda etc)
