Default Does any one know where to get stick on chassis protectors in aust

Hey guys i just got a new t2 and seing what happened to one of my older evo2's i dont want my t2's chassis ending up like that,so i need a chassis protector.

I have tried makeing ones from folders and clear rubbers sheet ,and holding it on with the normal under chassis screws, but it tweaks my car when i use screw to hold it on.

So i need a chassis protector that sticks on that also is easy to peel off when u want to take it off,as i heard the associated ones leave a sticky, crappy mess on your chassis when u peel them off,i dont want one of them.

If anyone can help me out in my quest for a good chassis protector i would really appreciate it

Thanks in advance,
Nick

Thumbs up CHASSIS PROTECTOR

G'day Got Xray,

I went to the local offroad motorcycle shop and purchased some clear protective sheet they use on the motocross bikes. A sheet will be large enough to cover two bottom decks is about $20 Au by memory. This material is about 1mm thick.

You only have to cutout all the openings after application.

I am unsure how much adhesive will remain when you go to later strip the stuff off, but you can purchase some Helmar Acid Free Remove Cleaner that will remove adhesive. I brought this from Dick smith's and yes it works.

Later
Calvin.

nothing lasts forever.

a few scratches on the bottom doesnt effect performance.... if you got it scratching alot then you got your ride height too low.

Have you tried good old clear contact? You know the stuff you put on the kids school books.

If you that bothered about not getting scratches on the bottom of your chassis, just get the motorcycle contact, as someone mentioned before.

Thumbs up MOTORCYCLE CONTACT SHEET

This sheeting is thicker than contact, as said before about 1mm thick. You prep bottom chassis as normal. the easiest way is to pull the car apart and lay chassis onto the contact. Once the contact has been pressed onto the chassis, trim around all countersunk holes using a hobby knife.

I normally do this at a 45 degree angle, however not that important. i covered the lower chassi on my LCG, last year and have done a fair few races and it is still in good condition.

Cheers
Calvin.
