What goes into the process of anodising? is it just like dyeing the metal?
Or is the colour electronically set in? |

I live about 8 hours away and i cant go down for a quote...i only want to bulkheads, shock caps and shock collars done hot pink.
Probably about 65$? Does the added layer of anodizing make the car tweak or the shock collars not thread as well? |
ok first of im 16 so yes im young but my dad is a sheet metal worker i have worked for stoddarts a large metal fabrication firm so i know a little bit about all thing metal.
anodizing is a [procces of several steps most for cleaning and protecting the annodized piece the preocces of acutally coloring the part is it is on a rack as previously mentioned it is then dipped into i believe acid with dye or just dye not 100% there but i know it is electricly charged than the item attract the particles in the solution(the colour) which is absorbed into the pores of the aluminium. i could be wrong but i think this is a very basic understanding hope it help also if u find some one willing to do small parts dont be to pushy or demanding as this type of work is more of a haslle for them good luck im thinking green my self :p |
I can vouch for Mr Ron Peters, I had a Cyclone fully anodised in Hara purple a few months ago. Basically all the black alloy parts that came with the kit were done and I paid $75.00. I would not even think of doing it myself. Give him a call.

(but you two will have to agree on the colour) |

does it cost more than normal? how many colours are there to choose from? :D its not easy being green :D |
Yes they can. The cyclone was anodised black and got them to do purple. I paid $10 more than if it was silver anodised.
