Default 2017 AOC ROUND 2 - AUGUST 10-13th ACTMCRC CANBERRA - PRESENTED BY SCOTTY ERNST

Hi Everyone,

Together with Scotty Ernst and ACTMCRC, AOC is back for 2017 in Canberra. The event will be located at Fitzroy Building, Exhibition Park, Canberra. Just like last year we will be using the unique ETS Carpet.

The event dates will be 10-13th August

Thursday 10th - Controlled Practice
Friday 11th - Controlled Practice with a Seeding Round for Qualifying
Saturday 12th - Qualifying
Sunday 13th - Qualifying and Finals

Classes on offer this year will be:

VTA 21.5 - BYO Rubber Tires
Blinky 21.5 TC
Blinky 13.5 TC
Modified TC
12th Scale - Modified
12th Scale 10.5 Blinky
F1 Blinky 21.5 Blinky - Rubber Tire

Cross entry of TC classes and 12th is ALLOWED

As with previous years the event will be on control rubber tires, with control goop and cleaner. Volante will be the control tire for the event, and we will be using HUDY traction compound as the control compound. F1 control tire is yet to be confirmed. Please remember the control brake cleaner for the event will be available on the Thursday morning for purchase, the goop how ever will be available for all to use at the controlled gooping station.

TC will be allowed to use 3 sets for qualifying and 1 set for finals.
F1 will only be allowed to use 2 sets for the entire event.
Last year the tire wear was minimal, most wont need to use the allocated sets.

Pit space and chairs will be supplied for all entrants. Like last year each entrant will be allocated half a table for pit space. Racers wont be allowed to BYO tables. Chairs are okay.

We are in the middle of arranging a few deals on accommodation around the area for the event, we will update this shortly.

We are working on getting some big names for this year, keep an eye on this. I will update once we have locked them in

Last year was a HUGE success and we are hoping that this year we can make it bigger and better.

Entries are already open
http://www.aocrc.com/registration

We hope to see you all there!!

Thanks
Alex

For those interested in a warm up meet for AOC. We are hosting the 3rd round of the Xray Race Series. We will be running the event in the same venue on the same carpet and tires as AOC (Different track layout). This is a 1 day event with practice on the Saturday and race day Sunday. Dates are 27-28 May.

Great chance to use this for set up and driving experience for AOC.

Hi Everyone,

We are very excited to be bringing the AOC back to Canberra. We had a great event last year and Alex and the ACTMCRC crew did a fantastic job.

One big improvement we will have for this year is Alex and the gang worked out a deal with the hall and we will have full use of the heating system in the building so it should be perfect inside for racing.

Our hope is to get some of the top drivers in the World to join and as soon as we have any info on this, we will let you know.

We hope that everyone will join from around the country to make this event really something special. If you ever have any questions at all, please feel free to drop me an email at [email protected] and I will be happy to help.

Entries are open at Home :: The Asian On-Road Championship and Ed Clark is TQ of Entries. He was the first to get signed up.

Again, we hope to see all of our friends we have made through the years and hope to make many new ones this year.

And yes Theodore... Tell Scott, Scott and my brother... We are running VTA.

Thanks
Scotty

XRS has been running rush 36X on asphalt.

No way in hell you would run them on carpet. Would be like ice.

As we couldn't test the Tyres before hand on the carpet. It was decided to go with something that is known to work.

Already has been discussed with the event organisers of XRS. We are choosing a tire known to work on the carpet surface. You cant run 36's on this carpet.....

Compound last year was Volante 28CP. This year we are wanting to use the revised 28R CP. I'll confirm soon once I know we can secure the new tires.

Tires will be available at the track for purchase for both events regardless.

Thanks
Alex
