The people who choose those speeds definitely don't always consider their skills to be lower - perhaps reaction time with age - but guile, setup knowledge, driving lines and race tactics can be just as important if not more important in the so called "lower" classes. Their is no pecking order of importance in the rules.

Take AOC as a great example. The skill required by Antoni to win 13.5 was actually the greater challenge than mod in that instance.
They're lower in Prestige. It's common terminology in Motorsports.

There's nothing in the rules to say F3 or Sports cars are lower in the pecking order than F1, but they are referred to as lower classes based on Prestige. Of course those classes are raced by seasoned racers and drivers looking to make their way to F1 alike. The analogy is apt.

_____

Brief so as not to derail.

There was nothing about broken chassis in the proposal justification. In other places a driver who deliberately breaks a chassis doesn't get to replace it.

Just to clear it up in my own mind - the control traction compound is only for the TC classes yes?

Hi Adrian,

The control cleaning and additive is only for the TC classes. Correct. All other classes are free to use whatever as long as it meets the club's requirement on odour (low odour).

Hope that helps.

Leonard.

You've listed Michael Kirby twice in TC2.

Richo, You can find the 12th scale rules and the links to the current battery and motor rules on the AARCMCC downloads page. http://http://www.aarcmcc.org/downloads.html
You'll find the 12th scale rules in the EP Onroad General Rules.
I've probably got a spare Mod motor if you need more speed....

There's a reason the IFMAR worlds only run modified, it's the pinnacle of our sport and the premier class. It's for the very same reason you don't hear Formula ford mentioned alongside F1 fame.

Just accept it, just like I and most others accept we can't compete at the pointy end of the worlds, or challenge yourself and rise to the occasion.
