Ok control tyre is Sorex 36r with open insert and open rim as per the first post , I just needed to clarify the allowed amount for the event and that is a maximum of three sets per competitior per class. To be handed in to the tyre impound prior to the start of the event . Also ORRCA has brought in a new rule that limits the amount of motors that can be used during the event for the spec classes . That is a 2 motor limit during the event .

Both these notes will be put onto an amended entry form that I will put up soon .

My understanding is you can't use it anymore - but I was wrong once before, I think.

The actual ORRCA rules on motors say:
13.5 Electric – Any commercially available 13.5t motor on ROAR, BRCA approval list

It's my understanding that the D3.5 is no longer on the ROAR list, and I think was never on the BRCA list. AARCMCC have given grace period until the end of 2014, but I'm not aware of an ORRCA announcement to that effect. That would have the D3.5 not being legal unless I'm interpreting the rules incorrectly (which is quite possible).

Can someone from interstate run in these titles as the entry form says you must be affiliated with ORRCA

I like this two motor limit concept.
I haven't read the rules regarding the change to understand what the exact thinking is behind it, or how practical enforcing it might prove to be, but it seems like a great idea to me.
Hopefully it doesn't, but it could possibly put some people off competing at a title event under such a rule. "I've got to get through 6 rounds of qualifiers and then hopefully 3 A finals in spring daytime temps with only 2 motors to use? That's not fair!".

Personally, I wouldn't be put off by a one motor limit. (I think there would be a widespread rejection of that from the spec racing community though!)
