Wow what a event back in nz now and have a big job ahead of me rebuilding my buggy . I realy liked the event set up with the controlled tyres and 4 days of racing on the most challenging track I've ever raced on and I loved the track because of how it made you drive to the track and punished you if you got it wrong .im looking forward to the next event I make my way over for and hope some can come over to nz for a few events in the future

Cheers
Reilly

I'm interested in hearing feedback from racers on how the control tyre format worked for you. I think this was the first time the concept has been run in Australia to the AARCMCC state titles schedule.

Thanks
I thought the control tyre format worked great! I didn't have to worry about tyres all weekend, I knew what I had to run, and that was that... DP...

I imagine McBride wasn't too happy with the truggy control tyres. The front right had also started to fall off near the end...

He glued them himself. On the flip side it's good to see he's not that good at everything Rc

I really liked the control tyre in that you didn't need 20 different sets of tyres, and everyone had to deal with how they worked, good, bad or indifferent.

As far as making all aarcmcc events control tyre, I think for as long as the nationals and state titles are separate, you could run control tyre for state events and leave the nationals open. Food for thought.

Thumbs up for control tyres. It dramatically decreases costs,u dont end up buying loads of tyres just to sit in your bag, totally levels the playing field as far as grip levels go, and so much easier for travel...Steve Perry

Agree 100%, when we travel to a new track we've never raced on sometimes we have to bring 20+ car sets of different styles and compounds as we don't know what will work best. Control tyre hell yeah As long as its Proline

I'm also all up for controlled tyres as our club have had a lot of different controlled tyre events and the cost savings are huge. However when we at aarcmcc put it up as a trial in Truggy at the NSW states everyone was up in arms and got it stopped.
Shame really as we did try and cater for all sponsorship arrangements people have by trying to have a controlled tread pattern. I.e Impact for AKA and blockade for proline etc
All I can say is if people want it, lets start a new thread and lets see if we can get the wheels in motion again for it.

Hi All,

After all of the clean up from the weekend we have realised that we are missing a hand held UHF UNIT. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this could you please let me know.

Thanks in advanced
