Wahoo, Nationals at MORRCC, should make it easier for the big names to show this year having the track nice and central, 20 minutes from the airport.

Cant wait to see what the new layout for the event will look like after great tracks of 2012 at Canberra, Liverpool, Sunshine Coast & South Australia.

Will be a busy summer at sunshine thats for sure.

We plan to make changes over Christmas and carry the same layout right through to and use for the Nationals.
We will have an official pre-nationals race some time in Feb but every meeting up to the event will be on the same layout. So if you want to get some practice in your welcome to attend out club meetings right up to the event.

The modifiable PDF t-shirt order form can be downloaded here
Fill it out and save it, then email it to the club at [email protected]

Like last year with the practice, no practice, club day, no club day. warmup race, no warm race thing the top 10 aust drivers finish top 10 last year.
And the aust top 10 drivers will probably finish top 10 in march with or without club days, or practice.

So in essence what your saying is, stuff the average racer and it's all about the top 10 or so? With that kind of thinking, that's all your going to get at a big event, the Top 10, wouldn't that be great for the sport.

Don't fear guys. Parts of the tracks layout will be changed for the event No track will survive the hot summer of racing and not need work before a major event. Mind you the clay that's on the track now will be the same clay that's on the track come the end of March. Its a unique surface so make the effort to get down for a club meeting.

The track is a bit beaten up after the state titles and was due for some work over Christmas. The works being done will now take into account the prep required for the planned changes.

Please try to remember guys that we have taken over the running of this event with a limited amount of planning time. Clubs in the past have had a whole year to plan a major event like this, we have 15 weeks. We have just hosted one of Victoria's biggest state titles and we were looking forward to a relaxed summer racing season. We just sunk the majority of the clubs finances into the new drivers stand, lights, power and mains water to the track. For the love of the sport we are now straight back in high gear trying to find the money, time and volunteers to make this event the pinnacle event it should. We will do everything in our power to make this event what it should be and I hope you will all leave satisfied at its completion.

Very few people have ever had to run an event as big as this, and I can guaranty that they will tell you its no walk in the park. Find one of them and they will agree. Its a physical and mental drain on all involved and the last this you need is people publicly dissecting your efforts. We have done this before, twice in the last year which is a grand feat on its own. We know what it takes to get the job done.

I will promise you 2 things.

1. This will be the biggest 1/8 IC off road event in Australia next year. Truggy and Buggy back together for the first time in years. All of Australia's best drivers representing the biggest brands in the sport will be epic.

2. It wouldn't matter if it was the same track we'd used for the last year. Cream always rises to the top and the 15 best drivers in both categories will be in the final.

If you have any concerns my number is on the clubs webpage. Feel free to call me to ease your nerves.

Cheers
Alan
