The ideal numbers are either 120/60 or 105/70. The reason for 70 rather than 75 in the truggy class is that the additional 5 trucks necessitates another level of finals and time will be of the essence. We will manipulate this figure as best we can closer to the cut off of entries to get as many people racing their desired classes as possible.

Its actually worked out on the finals instead of the heats. Its harder to fit in the extra finals at the end of the event than it is to fit in the extra heat in the first few days.

example for 15 car finals with 5 bump up spots

Truggy 70 entries
Top 20 - 1/2 finals
21-40 - 1/4 finals
41-70 - 1/8 finals

going to 75 would mean a 1/16 final would need to be added

Buggy 110 entries
Top 20 - 1/2 finals
21-40 - 1/4 finals
41-60 - 1/8 finals
61-80 - 1/16 finals
81-110 - 1/32 finals

Its all to be confirmed at the moment and 180 entries is the proposed cap. AARCMCC are working on the schedule and that cap may increase if the racing will fit into the 4 days. The highest entries ever seen at a buggy nationals was this year i'm told, and was just over 100. If it goes over 110 we may fit in the extra and run 1/64 finals if its going to fit into the days racing. However its up to AARCMCC to decide

Either way you are going to upset someone.....personally I have always believed in runnning both classes together I think it just adds to the atmosphere, but then again we are doing both classes so we will be there all day regardless of what happens

Cheers

I can see the Truggy cap being smashed out of the park long before the buggy cap. we already have 33 truggies entered and 2 months of entries still to be received. with the classes back together i see a lot more people taking advantage of running a second class.

This is where the primary and secondary classes will come into play. It will be the secondary preference entries that loose their spot. If we hit the cap and need to cull entries it will be the last payments received that get refunded. So if you plan on running 2 classes i'd recommend getting your payments in quickly. You'd hate to be the poor one that gets cut because you waited until the last second.

I am keeping a detailed record of what order people have paid their entries into the clubs account in case the situation arises that we have to refund any entries.

The club is prepared to refund payments to the entries that are forced out. This will not however mean the club will be refunding entries to people that don't show or pull out. If you pull out we will however fill your spot with another entry if someone has been forced out of the event.

Ok, makes sense. Thanks both of you for the explanation.

Default Payment

Payment made for Dave Watts, both classes

Re changing the track slightly I think this track would benefit from a raised section or two, The tracks one of the best in the country for sure but its very flat ... Just a thought

I think the event is gonna be really good, there isn't hardly any whinging on this thread about anything, I just had a read of the ep nats thread I think I better take a box of tissues to the ep nats in mildura. But on a serious note thanks Alan and morcc, doin an awesome job saving face for Victoria with what's going to be a world class event.
