A few of us made it to Keilor today to setup our cars for Round 2 in a fortnight.

If you're hanging out to race F1 then head to Boronia this Wednesday night (racing starts at 7pm) and TFTR next Sunday 26th.

Don't forget Round 2 at Keilor next Sunday 2 Sept.

Will the fast guys stick with 21.5 blinky or will they try to attack Andy Cooke's lead by changing to a faster motor? Will others who can see how fast Paul Sims is with a Silver Can change from 21.5 Blinky? It's all to play for in Round 2. See you then. Track address is on the KROMA website.

And full size F1 returns that evening. Will Alonso widen his lead at Spa or will the other 5 world champions narrow the gap?

It's going to be a full on F1 weekend!!

Unfortunately we only got one round in at Boronia tonight before the heavens opened. 8 cars on the grid so a fun first race. The Silver Can is now permanently in my F104 X1 for Boronia and the F104 V2 will run the 21.5 blinky for TFTR and the Vic Cup Series.

The Boronia committee have received a proposal put together by J-Pap and signed by most Boronia F1 racers asking to run 21.5 blinky. This is currently being considered and if approved might start for the first season of 2013. Fingers crossed!

Everyone I spoke to at TFTR last Sunday, and Boronia tonight, that entered the Vic Cup Series are looking forward to Round 2 at Keilor this Sunday.

And I'll be wearing my new Vic Cup Series hoody, thanks Will Check back a page or two for the link to order a hoody or T-shirt from Will's online store.

Weather looks Sunny and warm for Sunday

Busy booking flights and accomodation for the Nationals in November. Aaron, Chris, Sam and I are going, Brad and John are both strong possibles so a strong F1 contingent from Victoria. Why not join us! See the Event thread.

A sunny Melbourne day greeted 16 F1 racers. A great days racing was had by all. Initial results are up here and more photos and a full race report are coming later in the week.

Thanks to everyone who chose to spend Fathers Day racing F1 and thanks also to the Keilor club for hosting

Get ready for Round 3 at MPRCCC on Sun 30 Sept at Bittern on the Mornington Peninsula, a little over an hours drive from Melbourne City. Check out the MPRCCC website for the address. I've heard good things about this track. Newly built, great layout, nice curbs, good grip - can't wait!!!

F1 racing this week at Boronia on Wednesday night and TFTR next Sunday.

The next round is Round 3 at Mornington Peninsula in Bittern on Sunday 30 September.

It has been pointed out that the date for Round 4 is incorrect. It was published as Sun Oct 21 but this is not actually a TFTR club day and the correct date for Round 4 is Sun Oct 28th at TFTR. The website has been updated.

To repeat - Round 4 is Sun Oct 28th at TFTR

Thanks and see you then!

Well, we certainly don't want to conflict with our new friends in Mornington so we'll change it.

It could come forward a fortnight to Sun 14 Oct but that's only a fortnight after the Mornington Round 3.

Or we could move it to Sunday 11 November, a week before the Nationals.

I'm happy with either option. Let me know what you think.

I have emailed all of the participants who have attended both rounds so far.

We can move Round 4 to:

11 Nov - recommended
14 Oct - conflicts with off road event at Wodonga
28 Oct - conflicts with Mornington on road event

All are Sunday's and all are TFTR club days.

I've asked participants to let me know by the end of Monday 24 Sept and will then post the revised date.

Thanks for your patience guys.

Cheers

Dave

A reminder that Round 3 is on this weekend at Mornington. I intend getting there about 9am Sunday and assume racing kicks off about 10am.

All responses have unanimously supported 11 November so this will be the date of Round 4 at TFTR. The website has been updated.

Hi team

I've been speaking with Trevor Carpenter, the prez of Mornington club and we'll make a call at about 5.30pm today on whether to postpone tomorrow's Round 3. That way everyone knows where they stand with as much notice as possible.

Here's a link to the weather forecast for the track:

Cheers

Unfortunately rain is expected tomorrow and reluctantly, and in consultation with Mornington club, we've decided to cancel tomorrow's F1 Round 3 of the Cup Series.

Mornington has confirmed they are keen to be involved in the 2013 Cup Series which is already being planned so we'll definitely get to run F1 there next year!

Don't forget that Mornington have their Showdown event on 27-28 Oct so if you run a TC or Mini get down and support them. Should be a good event!

I'm currently looking at alternatives for Round 3 so stay tuned!

Thanks for your patience guys. Unfortunately we can't control the weather
