Thanks! So... you are using the 5995TG Robot servo, not the 5955TG with the heatsink case?

FYI: The 5955 and 5995 are the same servo but the 5995 is set for 180 degrees of travel (Robot use) and the 5955 has the normal 120 degrees of travel and is really the servo to use for R/C; plus it has the heatsink case.

That's not to say that you can't use the 5995 for R/C as many are and they are awesome as you say... it's just that the 5955TG is made for R/C where the 5995 was made for Robots.

Will the 5955TG handle 7.4v also? Its working great in my Revo. Turns on a dime.

Again... the servos are identical except for the programming and case.

The only reason the 5995 is rated to 7.4v is because the Robot guys like to use 2 cell Lipos to power them to get additional power and are not worried as much about durability.

Using a 2 cell Lipo over a 5 cell Nicad/NiMh can reduce the servos life by as much as 30% in all servos. However, the life of these new Ti geared servos seems to be very long as we have been running the 5955TG/5997TG with 2 cell Lipo in truggies and MT's with no failures to date.

For surface use I think this is okay, but discourage 7.4v for aircraft use.

I bet! With a 2 cell Lipo the servo is putting out over 417in/oz of torque @.12 sec!!!! And, that's at 7.4v... a fully charged puts' out over 8V so it's really pushing close to 500 in/oz

So, assume the servo can handle 7.4v lipos, can the receiver(futaba car use) take the 7.4v load if I were to plug in 2 5955?
And can those 9556tg and 9557tg take 7.4v too?

The Hitec receivers can handle it but I can't comment on any other brands. It's best just to stick to 6V or you can reduce the life of the servos.

Can the 5997Tg handle 7,4 volts also?

I have heard that the 5996tg is not so good for buggy, but suits electric touring cars better. It has a different mounting/suspension for the electronicks inside. Is this correct?

Thanks!!

Fast question if you have a 5995TG servo are you able to program for RC use since they are the same other then case / program??? if so will this cost a arm and leg???

The 5995TG cannot be programmed using our programmers. It uses a shorter PWM signal specifically for robot applications.
