Hitec CRX 3rd channel problem

Hitec CRX 3rd channel problem solved!
Hi,
I purchased a CRX back in September while my E-Maxx was going through a rebuild. I am trying to set it up now, but not having any luck. Steering and throttle work fine, but the 3rd channel will not work in shift or linear mode. The servo is just locked up and can't be moved. I have tried on my DCX rx in my Maxx and my Xxtra rx in my XXX-T, but it will not work with either receiver or any servo. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jamie

Thanks Tres,
I am also very concerned since as soon as I plugged in my new UBEC, it went up in smoke. Since the 3rd channel acts like a stalled servo, I think it may be pulling too much current through the voltage regulator. What would cause the servo to do this?

Black wire negative towards the outside of the case on both Hitec and Novak receivers. Like I said, it's not working on 2 completely different systems with only the tx in common. Steering and throttle work, at least on the one system. The system that fried the UBEC seems to have taken out my new speed controller too .

Any more ideas?

I'd send it in so we can check it out.

Can't do it right now. Too much motor testing going on and the downtime is killing the business. So no one's tried there 3rd channel?

Thinks Tres......I'll get it in as soon as I can.

After going through the setup again, I noticed one line I have missed several times. When in the edit mode, you have to physically press the 3rd channel switch to get full travel after exiting edit mode. Having the UBEC fry mislead me to think that maybe I had a stalled servo. It appears just to be a coincidence that led me astray. Glad I don't have to send it in after all. I would be lost without it. Thanks for the help guys!
