I've got a HS-6985HB servo I used in an old airplane. I was wondering how it would hold up in an 1/8 scale off road nitro buggy? The torque and speed would be good as far as a throttle servo but will the Karbonite gears hold up? If not, can the gears be replaced with say those of the 5955TG?
1/8 scale is very brutal on servos. The Karbonite gears in this servo probably wont last very long under normal 1/8 scale bashing around and unfortantually there is not another gear set that will fit in there. If you want something that has a chance of surviving in there you need to took at the higher end metal and titanium geared servos. The best combo we have found is the 5955/ 7955TG for steering and 965/985MG for throttle.
