I just bought my first 1/8 scale buggy(Mugen MBX5 Prospec), my LHS sold me some HS-945MG servos for it to use for steering and throttle/brake. My question is I went out last night to run it and made three easy runs around the track and stripped out the gear in the steering servo. Is this servo not recomended to be used for steering purpose? Please help!

Well I just took the servo out of the buggy and it wasnt the servo at all it was the servo arm was stripped. But I would like to know if this servo is a good choice for steering or not. Thanks

It will work "OK" for an 8th.
But, I would recommend one of the others...

Make sure you use a 24T horn.

i have used the digital brother of that one (the 5945) as my single steering servo in a revo for a year and a half and now it is steering my gt with an almost locked down servo saver in it.. two years of use and one 15 dollar gear change.. yeah the 945/5945 is a good servo..
