Default TRUCK RACING (ASPHALT OFF ROAD) AT RC HOBBIES RACEWAY

Its about that time of year again. A time when anticipation of races to come is on the rise. People are painting new bodies, gluing new tires, and stocking up on everything from steering knuckles to pinion gears.

The 2009 season marks the third season for the RC Hobbies Raceway. Thanks to Traxxas we will be seeing an exciting new form of racing at RCHR. The CORR trucks have been sweeping across the nation bringing in new racers like never before. People have been raing the Traxxas SLASH at dirt tracks and asphalt tracks alike. We will be jumping on board this new trend here starting Saturday April 25th. All the Truck Races at RCHR will be held on Saturdays and you can view the full schedule at http://www.rchobbiesraceway.com/upcoming_events.htm

The jumps are being built as we speak. They are all going to be made with steel frames and expanded metal (mesh) tread surfaces.

Initialy two classes will be offered, Stock and Unlimited.

This thread has been started to bring those interested in getting involved this new program together and provide a place to get set-up advice and share our racing experiences.

Below I have attached a shot of my slash. I plan to run in the Stock Division so I have not realy changed much. I did a little diff work and freed up the arms a bit. I also got about 2300 extra rpm out of the motor by doing the water break-in. And of course I went wild with the custom paint work!

Well for the Slash/SC10 debate you might try this link

slash / sc10 class evoving

As far as racing the SC10's here, as long as there are four or more we will run them. We might also allow them in the Unlimited Class.

In the Unlimited Division you can run any ruber tire that is 2.2 or larger.

In the stock class you must run the stock tire. Any CORR style body will be allowed. Any battery conector will be allowed. Only 6 - 7 cell Ni-Mh or 2 cell Lipo batteries will be allowed. Any Receiver/Transmiter will be allowed. Any shock oil will be allowed. Any gearing will be allowed. All other chassis componets must remain stock.

I also would advise that people who change out there stock electronics for brushelss (unlimited class) keep their stock electronics. I say this because we intend to run in the rain if it occurs on race day so having the stock waterproof gear handy would be a good idea.

Q I was just wondering how are the jumps coming along? Have you jumped your Slash over them yet? By the way a solid truck body looks so very gay.
