Default Charging question

Just posted this in the electric off road section that has 127 people viewing but funny enough I have more luck in my local thread with maybe 4 viewing!!

Have a thunder ac6 lipo charger and I am charging a 2s 5000mah battery. When I balance charged it last the charger ended with the charger saying CAPA. I assume this means that it hit it capacity limit, but the battery did not reach the 8.4v nor did the individual cells reach 4.2v. Both were very close battery was at 8.39 and cells 4.19 each. My question is, is it safe to raise the capacity limit to allow the cells to reach there proper voltage.

I have read some stuff online that people are saying a lipo doesn't need a capacity limit. Two things that scare me here fire and fire!

I think it means the timer hit it's limit. I assume it's just a safety feature. When that happens to me I just start it again to top 'em off.

Chances are you won't notice the difference in 8.4 vs 8.39. Just go have fun...

I dont think this is a problem. 8.3 to 8.4 thats the first blip of the trigger.

Thanks for the info.

Just a side note it didn't hit its time limit it is set to 2 hours. And the battery started the charge at about 7.5v that was the only thing that had me wondering. Only took about 25 min before the charger said Capa and there was no end charge tone.

Your always welcome to try your batteries on one of my AC6 chargers to see if it keeps doing this. I am over in Avondale.

you have the charger set at to low a limit on the capacity. You can either raise the capacity or restart the charge cycle it will not hurt it.

The AC6 is a peak charger, so you don't need that capacity limit. I turned mine off.
