No VTA or F1 tires. If you want to race one of those classes, don't bother showing up.

Or... bring what you have already since it is PRACTICE and you can run whatever you like for tires. VTA tires ARE hard as hell for everyone to get, but they are on order and hopefully will show up soon.. F1 rears are in stock, fronts were back ordered but again in-coming soon.
Would be awesome though if all this 💩 negativity could be flushed down the drain.

i asked the HT racing director. what's going to happen saturday with VTA, F-1, and 1/12th scale tire wise, and racers who may come from out of town (shortage for in town too), he said they will be able to race with what they have. they are not going to ban or turn away if you have rubber F-1 tires, VTA rubbers tires, and foams for 1/12th you will be good to go.

today was open practice with sedans, 1/12th cars, and tamiya trucks, saw no one with F-1's or VTA. track was blown off and sprayed with soda. they used orange and strawberry soda.....big mistake, i said they should have used root beer

Actually, it was mostly grape soda....it worked really well, especially with the Semi and TC's.. Root Beer would have probably been too much traction.. but would have smelled better I bet!!

I'd say opening night was a success. Good turn out and some fun racing on the new on-road track!

onroad classes Saturday was sportsman 17.5 TC. exp 17.5 TC, and 17.5 1/12th scale. there was a random drift car, F-1, tamiya truck, and mini cooper as i looked across the pits. many local racers showed but still on the fence in spooling up cars, have cars inwork, or still deciding.

A few things I learned from the first race night of pan car racing on asphalt:

Buggy Grip was the best tire sauce I tried on the pan car tires. I tried Paragon black can and Trinity Death Grip as well and they were perfectly okay but the Buggy Grip fared best.

4.5mm of ride height is just about right. More and the car gets lazy.

The track is smooth and has good grip from a soaking with sugar soda but is not perfectly level due to it needing to drain. This can make the car wander so be on your toes.

Aside from that, it was perfectly good, I kept the car off the boards for the most part but they are pretty solid, so be careful. I didn't actually manage to put my car on its lid, but if you weren't attentive you may be able to manage it.

I'm excited that Lonny has a place to race. Just finished doing an inventory of my stuff. I sold my F1 and WGT so if I do race it will just be 1/12 and TC. But it could still be awhile.

flyer of upcoming event, appears voltage rules only apply to 2S, so those who race 1S still good to go, no worries on tech there received on my phone, then emailed and saved to computer so quality of flyer is low. tires still a issue for spec VTA tires (in amount received so far) understand they are looking to get another brand besides HPI which are high demand/severely backordered, haven't seen any USGT spec tires not sure what will happen there. 12th scale double pinks were out of stock weds race day

What's the reasoning behind changing motor for Sportsman TC? Especially since everyone was already set up with 17.5. Guess I'll be a moving speed bump then in TC cause I'm not buying a new motor to replace my new motor

as it was maybe 17.5 sportsman TC was too close to 17.5 expert TC? if you look at saturdays results on liverc top in sportsman would have finished 3rd, 5th and 6th in expert. on wedsnesday there is no exp or sport...ran together

a racer was booted from 17.5 sportsman, HT race manager was not there when this 21.5 change was announced by race announcer. i did talk to him about issues in making it 21.5, it becomes a class to the point you can't really boot anyone and force them to buy a faster motor. also if you make it a new class the person booted could technically motor down and stay in it. if you go on the assumption of everyone has a 17.5 you could make that same assumption on a mod motor and boot 17.5 racers out of stock into a 13.5 super stock or mod class turning laps near the same in those classes?

several of us in sportsman had already made the decision to go into VTA with our TCs prior to the announcement, we had been on hold for the HPI tires, now that proline tires are allowed we can press on. so a non-issue for some of us. sportsman TC was not on WW race coming up anyway, and USGT is, which i have still yet to see anyone running those
