Hey I have a sc8.2e 1/8 short course truck. and I want to get into racing but there isn't a class for the sc8. I am not a complete noob to racing but I have been out of racing for 5 years or so. I doubt that I need to run in the novice class. would there be a class i could run in if I could get up there next Sat.?

The April 19th race is a Friday. Is that correct? Should it be the 21st (3rd Sunday)?

The SC8.2 could possibly run in the SC 4x4 class on 2S, but I haven't seen one in person to see how much bigger it is than a regular 1/10th scale SC 4x4. I think it would be at a disadvantage in the 1/8th scale buggy class, but worst case we could run it there. If we get a few more people with those trucks we can run a separate 1/8th scale SC truck class.

Come on out on a race day and we'll let you run. It might not be in a class with other cars that are "equal" but you'll still have a good time.

Our first Saturday night race will be June 1st. Make sure to be at the track by 4:30pm to get signed up. Entry is $15 for the first class and $10 for all others.

We've been having great turn out in our day time races (averaging 60 entries) so this night race should offer some great competition. The track is also being changed with modified layout to keep things interesting.

Default Moving South

I will be moving to Madison at the end of the year and I was wondering what the practice and race schedule is for this track. I'm moving from Southern California and race at WCRC (before their recent closure) and OCRC on a weekly basis. Just wanted to drop a note and introduce myself and was looking for some places to run my vehicles (B4.2, T4.2, B44.2, RC8.2, RC8T).

Hi Terry. The track in Huntsville is one of the best outdoor track I have run on. They do a great job on the track and the races. There is also a few other tracks within and hour of the Huntsville/Madison area. There is a pretty active group on Facebook (RC3 racing) I would recommend joining the group to know all the current happenings. We pretty much run all classes with the exceptions of 1/10 4wd, though there is a few of us consider getting the class up and running. Practice is pretty open unless the track is closed for maintenance or muddy. The Facebook group is the best place to check for track status. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the info. Most of my racing has been on 1/10th indoor clay. I am excited to get my 1/8 scales out and race.

As far as indoor off-road tracks go, from Madison you will be roughly 1 1/2 hours from Thunder RC in Nashville (TN), or the Warehouse just south of Birmingham (AL).
