well the indoor season is going strong. 56 entrees at the indoor dirt track a couple saturdays ago 20 or so Oval guys on most Firday night and 10 to 15 onroad guys with always a heat of 12th stock (we love our 12th scales) and touring stock whenever we run. new fasttrak CRC ozite for the full onroad and 2 year old carpet on the oval. yes depending on the weekend we are racing 1/8th buggy and truggy (.21 motor limit) indoor on the new longer track. and if you have a gas truck it's the most competive class we have as the last 2 "A" mains had the top 2 on the same lap. just because it's winter doesn't mean you have to put up the nitro! check out the calander and results over at

First the race reposts for this past weekend
Oval Friday
With michael skeen getting back to the track with his new hyperdrive and resetting tq 83/4:02.75 and main track record to 82 4:00.85 I think oval is going to get more fun. see the results here
Offroad Saturday
let me say that it was fun calling the races Saturday night/sunday morning. with 125 entrees for a club race we had some of the closest mains I think you can have as one was lost by .01 second. Dan Reino in Gas truck and Aaron Bigger in 1/8th Buggy taking the top spots in our 2 largest classes with both having nearly 40 entrees each. Even our electric classes were close races. The best show was Jermey Newsome bumping from the D to the B and missing the A by 1 second. check out all the results here
Onroad Sunday
back to a regular groove with onroad no records set but the "B" main qualifing top 4 was seperated by 5 seconds and the "B" main proved to be intense. see the results here
now a word from the track owner Michael Skeen
we weren't expecting that many people we apologize for the lack of pit spaces and that late hours. I know several people had to go home before it was over.
Robert did the best he could to keep the races flowing as smooth as possible especially since it was double our highest entry count for the year.
We are looking at either starting earlier on the big weekends say 1pm or doing a pre-entry system and limiting the number of entries we want to make sure everyone gets what they paid for we just had no idea that many people would show up. I believe the racer shoud get 3 heats and the mains for their money.
We will be more prepared for next time and make sure everyone has a good time. Sorry for the long hours.
Any suggestions is appreciated. Let me know what you guys think on changing the start time and or pre entries
thanks
Michael Skeen

Last time we had a big race like this in december we had over 100
entries come out and take home some money...
I'll be adding more details as I get them ironed out. In addition I
will add $1 per entry in each class to the winners cash payout. so if
you have 25 8th buggies the winner will get an extra $25 for the win
on top of the regular payout.
We will also be changing the main order like some of you have
suggested run the d's all nitro classes, c's all nitro classes, b's
all nitro classes, then a's of each nitro class. Electric will still
be run first that part won't change.
we will try and get an air horn for the start of the mains so there is
less confusion and we'll use it at 5 min intervals so you guys can
know approx. what time you are into the race.
We will be having a friday night warm up race just like last time for
those that want it. $10 entry 2 heats and a main. we got done at
midnight or so last time.
here are some details below that we have so far.
Open at 7am
Racing at 11am
entries close at 10am
3 heats and mains 1st
entry
$30 Nitro classes 50% payback
$25 Electric classes 40% payback
$20 Sportsman 25% payback
Pay out to top 5 each class
1st 40%
2nd 25%
3rd 15%
4th 12%
5th 8%
(Nitro classes)
8th Buggy
Truggy
10th Gas Truck
CRT .5
(Electric classes)
Open 2wd Truck
19 2wd Buggy (10.5 brushless or 19 brushed)
Mod 4wd Buggy
http://thunder.rc50.com
I would just like to remind all the nitro people that we lock 6 in the 8th classes and 8 in the 10th classes and bump 2. this is nitro only no bumps in electric. we ARE running IFMAR STARTS in the QUALIFING which means that you are on your own clock so when the buzzer goes off you don't all go at once. you go one at a time. first round in the 12345 order that is on the heat sheet then in a 54321 order, and for the third round as you qualified in the heat resort. YOU the driver need to know YOUR position that you are in and only go out in ORDER. don't screw up someone elses race. Also don't crowd the line on the qualifing start it might cause you to miss a lap and I'm not putting it back.

Saturday Dirt Report
didn't race dirt on Saturday had enough but not enough in any two classes to have marshalls. just made it a practice day. going to try again this coming Saturday the 22nd
Sunday Onroad Report
Jr TA now known as Novice TA make more then 14 laps and your in to the big leauge
After Justin setting TQ for the day with a nice run the main started out with Baby braking through some first corners crashes to take the lead and held onto it till Spidey finally started puting down some clean laps allowing him to catch up and pass Baby in the closing lap of the race. Justin faded to 3rd a lap off the leaders after being caught up in the crashes at the start.
TA
Myron started from the back of the pack after a false start from him wiped out his TQ starting position. So after some smart working through traffic Myron worked his way pass Darryl and Tim Moore to take the lead on lap 3 and never look back. The real battles were for 2nd/3rd and 4 on back as Tim and Darryl traded off the 2nd place spot back and forth for the whole 8 minutes till some late lap mistakes gave Darryl a clear lead over Tim for 2nd. The battle for 4th was at a time a 4 way battle on the same lap. but Dan in his first TA race indoor took it home after having some mechanical problems in the heats.
TC 13.5 "B"
Tim Moore took a 2nd place qualifing position to the lead at the start till some mid race tangles gave it to Danny D. Will Hillis putting down some good laps after a couple tangles at the start and was working his way back up but a mid race wreck broke his Xray taking him out of the race.
TC 13.5 "A"
Eric Anderson taking the TQ and Win after a late race mistake almost handing it to Robert Dirla. The battle in this race was for second also after Robert pushed wide in the infield turns and Darryl was ready to pounce and take the second position till a mid race tap on the lolipop costing him the position. Robert made the inside move and pulled the trigger into the next couple of pipe taps and finally settled into second till the end of the race.
17.5 12th scale
Robert Dirla resetting his TQ position in the third round with just a slightly better time, took the lead for the first couple laps till some bobbles allowed a fast charging Chris Cooper into the lead. A couple laps latter a 13.5 running Eric Anderson who threw down for the main to get some track time for next weeks US Indoor Champs in Cleveland Ohio took the lead in the race but it was sort of like IMSA he was in a different class. So the battle for 17.5 win was between Chris Cooper and Robert Dirla. about 1/3 of the way in Robert was able to regain class lead through a massive pipe pop from Chris and even though Chris was matching Robert Lap for lap even pulling off fastest lap of the class for the main. He was not able to summount the time he had lost to that crash allowing Robert to take the class win.

Offroad Race report
Slash “A” main
well Scott was cherry picking in the slash class and TQ over John Brumley by 4 laps. The main started out with an interesting start as Anthony and Zachary and first time racer Destiny were in the race but didn't run transponders. I think Zach beat his dad and Destiny finished out 5th. Just looking for some more slash racers as it looked like everybody was having fun and the trucks didn't look like they handled too bad.
10.5 2wd Buggy “A” main
Scott and Cornbread had a heated battle for qualifying with Scott taking pole on his second round results, Cornbread being a little faster just not getting the luck rolls in the heats. The main started out with Cornbread getting out on the field as Scott and Donald battled it out fiercely for second till about 3/4s of the race when Scott finally got to lay down some laps and locked on to Cornbreads rear motor plate. Scott and cornbread diced it out for the last couple laps with cornbread even running his fastest lap 3 laps from the end of the race, which he used to his advantage to take the win. Donald and John B finished out the lineup with Myron who had glitching and gear trouble all day and Zach who wasn't running a transponder.
Mod 4wd Buggy “A” main
Cornbread took pole with a blistering 24 lap run which stripped his rear diff gear in the process. So after hustling to repair his B44 to make the main he ended up falling to 3 off the start after some bad bounces off the infield triple. So digging in Cornbread battle back in front of Donald for second and set off to run down Myron. Myron out in front putting down consistent laps couldn't hold off a hard charging Cornbread. Cornbread jumped into the lead about 6 laps from the end and Myron tried to come back but some hard laps towards the end wouldn't have him back up front.
next race December 6th

I tried video but the site messed up.
Onroad Results
Novice TA
Baby and Yung battled for qualifying in the heats with Yung edging out Baby by 1 second. The main started out with Yung getting caught up and Baby taking the lead. Yung jumped back into the lead and started pulling out on the rest of the field. Autumn battled it out with Melinda for 3rd and taking it home and Melinda falling to 4th and with Baby putting it another solid second.
Pro TA
Myron still laying it down in TA class although Darryl had some close dicing with him in the heats. The Main had Myron lapping the field with Darryl taking second but the real battle was in the back as Tim Moore Bobby Mills Hayden P. and Mike Holt switched up positions for most of the race finishing in that order. Mike Holt was working on setting up a new car and not getting much love from it but it was heard that he got the specs for a dialed setup and will be back.
TC 13.5 Foam
Eeverybody picked it up in the heats after Eric doused the track in traction action. Eric taking TQ and the lead with Robert holding off a fast charging Darryl. Darryl scrapped a few walls and had to start worrying about Scott till Scott tapped out himself. Tim Moore who had some handling issues fell off to 5th.

Saturday Offroad
Slash “A” main
David Nelson TQed and lead the first couple laps till getting caught up in some lap traffic. Brandon Giles jumped into the lead for a lap only to be knocked back to third allowing Nelson back into the lead. About half way through David and Brandon got into a seesaw battle for the lead trading positions several time in a lap till Brandon made it through some traffic that David didn’t for the win. Tommy finished out in 3rd with the rent a ride from Scott. Clay and Anthony and Zach and Tom Lowe had they own seesaw battles for 4th and 6th respectively. All in all it seemed like a fun class close class to run in.
10.5 2wd Buggy “A” main
Paul Sinclair checked out at the start with Cornbread who had some brain fade early in the race and Brandon Giles who was running a JRX-2 with a mild mod motor, who had actually out qualified Cornbread, battled it out till Cornbread started putting in some consistent laps to put himself solidly in 2nd but by then it was too late to catch Paul.
Open 4wd buggy “A” main
Scott and Cornbread battled it out for fast lap of the day as Scott pulling a 14 flat 12 laps in. This didn’t deter Cornbread as he laid down a 13.8 on lap 23 only 2 laps from the end of the race. A last lap “catch me if you can” move by Scott put Cornbread only 2 seconds behind at the end.
results
http://results.rc50.com/Thunder_RC_N...le/12-06-2008/
Sunday Onroad
Trans AM “B” main
Robert Harrington took the lead on the 4 lap after a smoking 15.8 lap over Hayden Pirrera. Hayden tapped a couple walls allowing Robert to get gone and then had to start worrying about Dan McQuarter. the rest of the main pretty much stayed status quo till the end with Donnie Ford having some mechanical difficulties taking 4th.
Trans AM “A” main
After falling to second for the pole setter Myron he worked his way around Mike Holt who put in 3 blistering laps at the start but then fell to third behind Donald Martin. Donald could never recover enough to close on Myron who was running pretty consistent laps for the last half of the race. Neal Davis who had some trouble about ¾ into the race held on to 4th over Bobby Mills.
17.5 12th “A” main
Chris Cooper took the lead and then battle to hold on to it. He got wrecked by lap traffic, at least that’s what he told me, about 2/3rds into the race took a couple laps to recover but still finished last in the race.
results
http://results.rc50.com/Thunder_RC_N...le/12-07-2008/
Friday Night Offroad
Slash “B” main
Clay Gilbert actually qualified 4th with a T4 and a 19turn but wasn’t running for the money so graciously bumped back to battle with the “B” drivers for track time that he wanted more after having issues in the first qualifier and practice. But a lap in Tom Lowe the BQ in slash class took the lead and didn’t look back showing that he could have finished up in the field in the “A” main if he had gotten a better qualifier in. Conner finished second in class after Big”D” Hopkins and Brian Running Brett’s Slash had problems not allowing him to finish the main.
Slash “A” main
A rematch of last weeks Saturday Offroad main was brewing between Brandon Giles and David Nelson with Nelson TQing again and using that advantage to get out while Brandon had to battle with David Wall and Anthony Noia for the first couple laps. Noia rolled over and Brandon got by Wall for second and started tracking down Nelson. Although he got into close position he could not surmount the lead that Nelson had amassed as the battle for 3rd heated up between Shawn Gooch and David Wall. Those 2 battled for almost the full length of the race even though Wall had lost a lap to Gooch he battled back to finish only a couple seconds behind Shawn. With Kevin Premer, Anthony and Hollywood Hoskins finishing out the main after pretty much locking in their position 3 or so laps into the race.
10.5 2wd Buggy “A” main
Cornbread took TQ and said he was going to take his winnings to Mickey”D” for a happy meal so after a rough couple of first laps with Cornbread falling all the way to 3rd he worked back into the lead and started to put some distance on Donald Martin. After some slow laps for Cornbread, Donald was able to take the lead back with some hard charging laps which put Cornbread on the offensive. Cornbread working hard to catch up went into the sweeper hard flipped and broke a front arm dashing his hope of a happy meal. This locked Donald into first and bumped Mike Blick up to second. Cornbread as accumulated enough laps to hold on to 3rd with Zach Noia beating out John Brumley with a broke and out Clint Sweatt finishing 6th.
