There is actualy a great off road track close to birmingham. Drive south on highway 280 untill you reach hartselle, the second place where the speed limit drops to 45. Turn right at a light. There will be a jacks on the left and a gas station on the right. Drive about 5 miles down the road. Its about a 20 minute drive from highway 119. Regular turnouts around 35-60 drivers. They run nitro off road. They will allow you to run 2wd electric w/ 1/10 nitro. Heres to a forum use. They have been racing at noon each saturday, but are taking a 2 week break. The owner is putting on a very large indoor race. I would assume racing there will resume the week after. If you want to realy get electric going then you would need to try and tap the on road community. They suposedly have good crowds around 35-50 people on race days and you may be able to get a good 1/10 2wd class out of them.
