Thanks Jeremy and all, we appreciate the nice words.
Team CRC had a fantastic weekend in Las Vegas, winning 1:12th mod and qualifying 1-2 and 7. In addition, we were T.Q. in 1:12th stock as well with 5 cars in the A-final. The Gen-X 12 cars were very good and our small running changes to the cars have kept us on top and in the lead with regard to 1:12th technology.
In addition to the great performance of the cars, we have recently re-vamped the tire line with new compounds and better mounting and truing. In modified, the entire front row was CRC Pro-Cut tires, the original High Roller tire now copied by all the manufactures.
Regarding setup…. I wrenched Jilles second place mod car as well as my 3rd qualifying stock car;
Frank’s 2008 Vegas setup
Front –
** CRC Black fronts – 1.65” – 42 shore, glued outer sidewalls
** .50 mm front springs with very little pre-load
** -.5 degree camber
** Long ball upper arm with 5 degree dynamic caster blocks.
** 2 caster washers to the rear
** 3.5 mm ride height clearance
Mid –
** New Prototype CRC “Encore” shock – (new bladder micro shock coming from CRC)
** Red center spring
** .5 mm down travel (pod drooping when held in the air)
** Level chassis and pod at race weight (bottom plate and chassis in straight line when at race weight on smooth surface)
** Batteries Back
** 4 mm ride height
** CRC/Black Art Audi R8C body
Rear –
** New CRC exclusive short diff hub with the 3349 Brushless Pod conversion for perfect center motor placement.
(Remember racers… simple fact, if you don’t have a short hub, your pod is NOT balanced with a brushless motor. Standard length hubs make it impossible to center the weight on a brushless motor, it doesn’t matter which brand of wheel you use.
** 20000 weight in tubes
** White side springs with no preload.
** CRC’s new “Grey-low”” tires. These are mostly yellow compound with a ring of grey on the outside… hence “Grey-low” 1.70”
** 4.25 mm ride height
Qual 3rd, Finish 4th.
